I was 21 when I stopped taking the pill and discovered I had endometriosis. The pain was immediate and overwhelming, during my cycle, outside of it, every single day. For years, I went from doctor to doctor feeling unheard, unacknowledged, and increasingly alone. I went through multiple surgeries. Each time, it came back.

The last surgery changed everything, not because it worked, but because I nearly didn't survive it. I haemorrhaged internally after the procedure. I almost died.

When you face that kind of moment, something shifts. You stop waiting for someone else to save you.

I came back to life with a new clarity. I opened a wellness store in New Caledonia dedicated to women with endometriosis, PCOS and PMS: supplements, education, real support. For two and a half years, I poured everything into it. Then the 2024 riots destroyed it in a matter of weeks. Everything I had built… gone.

I fell into depression. Again.

So I did the only thing I knew how to do: I started over. I moved to Australia alone, leaving behind my husband and my daughter because my visa didn't allow them to come with me. I cleaned houses, drove for Uber, took every small job I could find, all while learning English almost from scratch and navigating a completely foreign culture. I was smiling on the outside and completely lost on the inside.

And then, at my lowest point, I made a decision. Not a big dramatic one, just small, quiet actions, day after day. I sought support. I started to understand the patterns I kept repeating. I learned what it truly means to listen to your body, to speak to yourself with kindness, to set limits, to stop shrinking.

I chose Gold Coast because the moment I arrived, I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time: that I was exactly where I was supposed to be. After eighteen months apart, my daughter is finally coming to join me.
